For women, dating after 40 isn’t the desperate search for a life partner and validation it was in our 20’s and 30’s. And thank God for that! It was exhausting! With every man I dated, I tortured myself with questions like -- Is he the one? Will he fall in love with me? Will we have a life together? Will I do something or say something stupid and he’ll dump me like a hot potato? Will I sleep with him to soon? Will I wait too long to sleep with him? I get a headache now just thinking about it!
We’ve gloriously evolved past all that! Dating over 40 is, instead, a celebration of who we are! Who we have become! If, along the way, we adventure upon another human being who can share our journey with us, that’s fabulous! But, if not, we’ll enjoy every minute of the exciting road we are traveling.
